Q:
I heard the Pre- and Postnatal Coaching Certification was more like a University-level program than an online course. Is that true?
A:
Yes, it’s true, and we are so excited about having created the industry’s top Pre- & Postnatal Coaching Certification.

It’s the “Wild, Wild, West” of online courses at the moment -- meaning anyone can create anything and call it a “course” with no guarantees about the source or quality of the information.

That’s why we went above and beyond to create the world’s-most comprehensive, evidence-based, interdisciplinary Pre- and Postnatal Coaching Certification in the world.

It will help you master the art and science of coaching pre- and postnatal women, so you have the peace of mind that your clients are moving and eating in a way that’s safest and healthiest for them and their baby at every stage of pregnancy and postpartum. This program includes:
  • Industry-changing pre- & postnatal textbook — the world’s most comprehensive, evidence-based, interdisciplinary pre- and postnatal coaching textbook in the world,
  • University-level content created by 16 world-class women's health professionals, coaches, and trainers (PhDs, pelvic health physios, OB-GYNs, university researchers, and more!) with over 250+ years of combined practical and clinical experience in addition to their formal education,
  • Self-paced study so you can work through our 500-page textbook, 100+ page workbook, and mobile-friendly online materials at your own pace, from anywhere in the world.
  • Online exams at the end of each unit (5 units total). Achieve a 75% or higher on each of the four exams to earn a passing grade. At the end of the 5th exam, you'll be a Certified Pre- & Postnatal Coach, and you'll be listed in our online directory.
  • 24/7 access in our private Facebook group to the creators of the curriculum and GGS experts for support, guidance, advice, and wisdom.
Our beautifully designed, full-color, 500-page textbook is available only with the Pre- & Postnatal Coaching Certification. It was developed by experts with 250+ years of combined experience creating learning materials that produce incredibly powerful learning results.

Q:
So why offer a certification like this?
A:
Thinking pre- and postnatal coaching is a “niche” is harming women. We’ve realized that interdisciplinary pre- and postnatal care is missing in almost every health and fitness industry. And as much as you’ve been led to believe it’s a niche — it’s not.

85% of women will have a baby at some point in their lives, so if you work in health and fitness, you work with pre- and postnatal women.

The statistics don’t lie:
  • Nearly 45% of women have some form of leaking urine 5-7 years post-delivery
  • 30% of women are having painful sex 12 months after childbirth
  • Up to 19% of women have surgery for pelvic organ prolapse or incontinence in their lifetime and 30% of them need multiple surgeries
The truth is, we are FAILING women by not understanding their unique needs during and after pregnancy, and by not understanding our unique role as a member of their healthcare team.

So much of what women are experiencing is preventable, or at least mitigated by having access to an experienced team of professionals who know their role, and know how to help.

Put simply: Knowing how to coach pre- and postnatal women effectively is the key to helping them get the results they deserve.
Q:
What do you mean when you say, this certification is industry-changing?
A:
We mean exactly that.

Learning how to coach and train pre- and postnatal women without GGS is going to be really tough. The information you’ll find in health and fitness textbooks (if you can find it at all) incomplete, or outdated.

At best, it’s written from the perspective of a single discipline, training OR physiotherapy OR midwifery.

Further — how do you know where to start? What information is most critical to learn? How do you determine what information to prioritize without feeling overwhelmed by information overload?

Even if you're an ambitious self-starter, you're going to wade through a lot of low-quality information and waste a lot of time trying to do it yourself.

Learning from world-class experts in a simple, easy-to-understand, self-paced format that fits your life and schedule is crucial for your success.

And for most people, going back to school isn’t the best solution (or isn’t an option at all!) Getting a degree is incredibly expensive and takes years. As mentioned above, what’s been taught is often incomplete or outdated. Most programs teach you very little about the psychology of working with pre- and postnatal women — which is key to become an effective and compassionate coach.

And reading blogs and articles from the internet is kinda scary. It's very difficult to distinguish between fact and fiction on the internet, and it's nearly impossible to know who to trust. Plus — who wants to wade through hundreds of blog posts, articles, and research studies trying to find the truth?

There’s literally no other program available that solves the two biggest problems health and fitness pros who want to help pre- and postnatal women face:
  • How to use the science and psychology from different disciplines to help health and fitness pro give their pre- and postnatal clients the coaching and care they deserve.
  • How to get the education they need — within their budget, schedule, and lifestyle — without having to go back to university.
...until now.

This is exactly what you'll get with our Pre- & Postnatal Coaching Certification.
Q:
What can I expect when I integrate pre- and postnatal coaching into my practice?
A:
When you finish this certification you’ll be one of the best in the industry at working with pre- and postnatal women. There is zero doubt about that.

Our Pre- & Postnatal Coaching Certification will provide you with a deeper understanding of pre- and postnatal women, the skills to coach them, and the ability to turn what you know about coaching women into world-class results.

In addition, you'll learn the unique GGS coaching methodology we've tested, refined, and proven.

Q:
What qualifies you to teach a course / offer a certification like this?
A:
Well, for one, our team at Girls Gone Strong (GGS) has over 250 years combined of real-world, women-specific coaching and research experience.

We aren’t just a certification company. From the start, Girls Gone Strong has been dedicated to helping women achieve their goals and feel more comfortable and at home in their bodies. We’ve helped hundreds of thousands of women from 80+ countries around the world through our free content, our coaching programs, and a wide range of information products.

GGS is uniquely qualified to help health and fitness professionals (like you) better understand, connect with, and impact the lives of women.

Developed by GGS owner and co-founder Molly Galbraith, CSCS and co-written and reviewed by women like Dr. Helen Kollias, PhD, Marika Hart, PT, Dr. Jessica Shepherd, OB-GYN, Dr. Carrie Pagliano, Dr. Sandy Hilton, and nine other world-class experts, our Pre- and Postnatal Coaching Certification is the synthesis of everything we’ve learned in our respective fields with our combined experience in real-world coaching and research.

The purpose of this Certification is simple: to help you master the art and science of coaching pre- and postnatal women, so you have the peace of mind that your clients are moving and eating in a way that’s safest and healthiest for them and their baby at every stage of pregnancy and postpartum.
Q:
How does the Pre- & Postnatal Coach Certification compare to other pre- and postnatal education options for fitness pros?
A:
CPPC is the world’s-only pre- and postnatal coaching certification that checks all of the following boxes:
  • Comprehensive
  • Interdisciplinary
  • Evidence-based
  • Comes with a 500-page textbook, 100+ page workbook, and online portal
1)  Comprehensive – our certification includes both prenatal and postnatal information and covers:
  • Coaching
  • Psychology
  • Nutrition
  • Anatomy and physiology and how it changes during and after pregnancy
  • Birth process
  • Rehab and recovery
  • Exercise and exercise programming
  • All during AND after pregnancy
2)  Interdisciplinary – our certification was written, reviewed, and edited by world-class women's health professionals including:
  • 6 physiotherapists (5 of whom specialize in pelvic health)
  • 4 PhDs in exercise science, psychology, molecular biology, and rehabilitation science
  • 4 pre- and postnatal fitness experts
  • 1 OB/GYN
  • 1 Nurse Practitioner
  • 1 Doula
  • 1 Midwife
These women come from five different countries including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Australia, and the UK, and currently work or have worked at Johns Hopkins, Baylor University, University of Florida, Georgetown University, and Precision Nutrition.

And what's even more special is our *process* for creating the curriculum.

Every single chapter of CPPC was written, reviewed, and edited by as many as 6-10 of the experts listed above.

We asked each expert to challenge one another's ideas and methods and help integrate the best available evidence and research with their professional experience so we could give you a truly interdisciplinary, evidence-based, practical coaching certification.

Because we believe we’re BETTER TOGETHER.

In other words, the women behind this certification weren’t just “kinda involved” — they dedicated hundreds of hours of wisdom and passion to this project…

...and the result is a one-of-a-kind pre-and postnatal-specific certification that stands alone at the top of the industry.

3)  Evidence-based – When we say our certification is "evidence-based" it doesn't mean it's simply based on the research (although there are nearly 300 references throughout our 500-page textbook!)

It means we take into account the best available evidence and integrate it with the combined 250+ years of clinical and practical experience of our experts, while also taking into account client and patient values.

All references are listed at the end of each chapter so they’re super easy to find if you want to do further research, and even more references are included in our online portal materials.

4)  The 500-page textbook and other physical materials – our certification is the world’s-first and only pre- and postnatal coaching certification that comes with a beautifully-designed, hard-copy 500-page textbook, 100+ page workbook, an online portal that will store all of your valuable coaching lessons for you, that you’ll have access to forever.

Here you can review the Female Anatomy & Physiology Unit of our textbook:
It also comes with an accompanying 100+ page workbook filled with practice questions and case studies to help deepen your understanding of the materials, practice what you’ve learned, and study for the exams.

AND you get a mobile-friendly online portal filled with high-def coaching and demonstration videos, questionnaires and forms, workout templates for every stage of pregnancy and postpartum, additional reading and resource recommendations, downloadable PDFs, and comprehensive unit exams.

And you have lifetime access to the materials. :)

By the time you graduate, you’ll be able to confidently and effectively coach any pre- and postnatal woman who comes to you for help.

AND -- you’ll be one of the best in the industry at working with pre- and postnatal women. There’s zero doubt about that.
Q:
How thorough is the Pre- & Postnatal Coach Certification?
A:
Very. To give you an idea, our 500-page textbook includes nearly 300 scientific references, and was was developed by experts other experts trust across a wide variety of disciplines:
  • 6 physiotherapists (5 of whom specialize in pelvic health)
  • 4 PhDs in exercise science, psychology, molecular biology, and rehabilitation science
  • 4 pre- and postnatal fitness experts
  • 1 OB/GYN
  • 1 Nurse Practitioner
  • 1 Doula
  • 1 Midwife
Q:
Do I need to have a science degree to become certified?
A:
No. Our Pre- & Postnatal Coach Certification is for any current or aspiring forward-thinking professional who wants to have a bigger and deeper impact on women's lives.

It doesn't matter if you're a nutrition coach, personal trainer, physiotherapist, strength coach, healthcare practitioner, MD, group fitness, pilates, or yoga instructor, having the skills to better understand, connect with, serve and empower your pre- and postnatal clients will result in improved consistency and better client and patient outcomes.

Whether you're just getting started or a veteran in your field, CPPC gives you the knowledge, systems, and tools to help your pre- and postnatal clients and patients have their happiest, healthiest, safest, and strongest pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
Q:
Once I'm a CPPC, will I be listed on your site?
A:
Yes. Once you’re certified, simply provide us with your business and contact information and you'll be listed in our online coaches directory. That way, folks interested in GGS-approved coaches can find you quickly and easily.
Q:
Are there any requirements to maintain my certification?
A:
As a Certified Pre- & Postnatal Coach, you’re required to re-write an exam every two years from your date of course completion to keep your certification current.

The renewal process is in place to ensure your knowledge is current, and you’re still practicing at the top of your field.

The good news is that re-certifying is simple and free, if you do it within 60 days of your certification expiring.

We make it super simple — and totally free — to stay certified with us because we want you to spend your time helping your clients and growing your business.

And the other nice thing is there are no CEUs or requirements to maintain your certification beyond taking the exam every two years.

If you take the recertification exam before your Pre- & Postnatal Coaching Certification expires, you’ll maintain your status as “certified” in the GGS Online Coaching Directory.
Q:
Would physiotherapists benefit from this program as well?
A:
Absolutely. In fact, we would love for every health, wellness, fitness, and nutrition practitioner working with pre- and postnatal clients would find their way to this program and get involved.

Although physiotherapists have excellent training in anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, unless they are a pelvic health physio, they probably have very little training in how a woman’s anatomy and physiology changes during and after pregnancy, and how to adjust her exercise program accordingly.

Further, they have significantly less training in the areas of coaching, psychology, exercise science, and nutrition, which are critical to helping your clients and patients get the coaching and care they deserve.

Plus, the best physiotherapists, dietitians, physicians, trainers, and coaches make lifelong education an important priority.

The Pre- & Postnatal Coach Certification would be an asset for all of these practitioners.
Check out what Dr. Meryl Alappattu, DPT, PhD in Rehabilitation Science, and contributor to our Pre- & Postnatal Coaching Certification has to say about who the certification is good for.

Q:
How long does it take to complete the Certification?
A:
Our Pre- & Postnatal Coaching Certification is self-paced, meaning there's no deadline to start or finish.

We see the most success from students who set a goal to complete one chapter per week. That includes reading the textbook's chapter, watching the accompanying videos and resources in the online portal, answering the workbook questions and case studies, and if applicable, taking the unit exam.

This structure requires about 3-5 hours per week to focus on the certification materials. There are 22 chapters in the textbook, so including all five unit exams, you’ll become a Certified Pre- & Postnatal Coach in about 4-5 months.
Q:
How do I stay committed and on track if the program is self-paced?
A:
That part is easy.

In addition to the printed materials you’ll receive (i.e. textbook, workbook, client assessment forms), you’ll also get access to our online course platform.

While the platform hosts our educational videos, FAQs, and online quizzes (one per chapter), it also encourages (and tracks) your progress.

In the end, we built the online platform ourselves based on the best practices of distance-based education. Most students find it the perfect blend of flexibility and accountability. And the proof is in our graduation rate, which is well above the industry standard.
Q:
What are other people saying about the Certification?
A:
The feedback on the Pre- & Postnatal Coach Certification has been overwhelmingly positive.
We’ve enrolled thousands of students from 50 countries around the world in our certification, and student satisfaction ratings far exceed the industry average.

Further, here are some thoughts from a few of the top experts in the industry:
Q:
What advice will someone be able to offer clients or patients after completing the course?
A:
That’s a great question and one we cover in-depth in the course.

The type of information you’ll be able to use when working with pre- and postnatal clients includes:
  • Physiological changes and psychological considerations in pregnancy and postpartum
  • The indications and contraindications for exercise in pregnancy and postpartum
  • Pelvic floor dysfunctions and other pregnancy-related symptoms and conditions and how to proceed
What we’re offering is interdisciplinary, evidence-based information to help you not only work more confidently and effectively with your clients, but to recognize your scope of practice and understand how to collaborate knowledgeably with other healthcare professionals also working with your clients during their pregnancy and in postpartum.

Your scope of practice is what you can and cannot do under your credentials and within your position by law. It extends to what you talk to clients about, what specific advice you can give them, and how you conduct yourself with clients.

Every accredited certifying body defines their scope of practice, and it’s up to you to continue to abide by your certification’s scope of practice when working with your clients.
