Who are you and what makes Girls Gone Strong qualified to coach women?

My name is Molly Galbraith, and I’m co-founder and woman-in-charge at Girls Gone Strong.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve devoted my career to making health and fitness easier and more accessible for women all over the world.

I’m a certified strength and conditioning specialist, former figure competitor, powerlifter, and gym owner, and through Girls Gone Strong, I’ve teamed up with the world’s most brilliant PhDs, physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, nutritionists, MDs, registered dietitians, licensed mental health professionals, and pre- and postnatal experts to create our Get Results Coaching program.

Do you give me a meal plan?
A:
This is a really common question, and the answer is no. We don’t provide meal plans.

Our team has decades of experience with women and meal plans and as it turns out – they’re not particularly effective or sustainable. They create a “diet” mentality, and not only lead to an unhealthy relationship with food for many women, but they remove the most important part of the equation: YOU.

We take a completely different approach. We teach you how to adopt sustainable habits and skills that help you make choices that align with your goals, preferences, tendencies, budget, and overall lifestyle.

We don’t tell you what to eat. We teach you HOW to eat, so you’ll never “diet” again.

Why are you offering this type of coaching?

As I mentioned above, working with coaches and mentors has profoundly changed my life, so I might be a little biased, but I also know this.

When I look around at the lives of the people I admire the most, the people who are most successful in all aspects of their lives (not just business, but health-wise, family-wise, etc), they’ve all been transformed by their relationship with someone else — typically a coach or mentor.

Yes, they read books and articles, and listen to podcasts, and consume information on their own. But the most powerful transformations happen through their relationships with another human being.

That said, if you can read a book or an article or listen to a podcast and put into practice what you’re learning, and get great results with those tools, more power to you! That’s amazing!

Do you really not think the information online is valuable?
A:
Of course I think it’s valuable! So valuable in fact, GGS invests hundreds of thousands of dollars every year in creating world-class content online for FREE!

Articles are great, but aren’t typically comprehensive.

Absolutely! Many of our clients have several years of consistent exercise and good nutrition under their belt (in fact, many of our clients are health professionals themselves!) And they still benefit greatly from GGS Coaching.

Yes! We highly recommend friends, partners, family members, and colleagues join GGS Coaching together. The more in-person social support you have, the better.

Q:
Is this only for young people?
A:
Definitely not. We coach women of all ages, including clients as young as 18 and into their mid 70’s.
Q:
I work in the fitness industry. Should I do this or your GGS-1 Certification instead?
A:
This answer depends on a few important factors.

If your main goal is to master the science and psychology of coaching women, then you may want to consider doing our GGS-1 Coaching Certification first. Once you’ve finished that program, you can consider enrolling as a client.

You’ll have a deep understanding of both the science of nutrition and exercise, and the psychology of coaching and support, and better yet, you’ll see how we put it all into action for an even deeper learning experience.

If you’re looking to get results for yourself, you can consider enrolling in coaching first. You can enroll in our GGS-1 Coaching Certification after you go through the coaching as a client. This way you can get the results you’re after, while experiencing world-class coaching firsthand. Then you can circle back to learning the science and theory behind it all.

Q:
Will I have to spend a lot of money on food and supplements?
A:
Most of our clients find they spent less money on food than prior to GGS Coaching.

That’s because they make intentional, informed grocery-buying decisions, they plan their meals ahead of time resulting in less waste, they eat out less, and they buy fewer processed, packaged foods which provide very little nutrition per dollar spent.

Regarding supplements, we may recommend a few health-oriented supplements based on your needs and goals, but these are optional, and by no means necessary.
Q:
Do I have to join a gym?
A:
Several of our programs (including our fat loss program, bodyweight program, and programs for folks who are new to exercise) can be done at home with very minimal equipment, namely 1–2 kettlebells or dumbbells and a few resistance bands.

However, if your goals are hypertrophy or max strength gain, your best bet is to have a gym membership.

Do I have to join a gym?
A:
Our Get Started and Get Lean programs can be done at home with very minimal equipment, namely 1-2 kettlebells or dumbbells and a few resistance bands.

I already have a personal trainer. Can I keep that up while participating in GGS Coaching?
A:
Yes, if you want to continue with your trainer while you do GGS Coaching, that’s a great option. Several of our past clients have done this and had fantastic results.

Between weekly in-person coaching and support, and daily online interaction and accountability, you’ll accomplish more than you ever thought possible.

Simply tell your coach you’re working with a trainer, and she will help you integrate your in-person and online coaching.

I have a few injuries. Can I still join?
A:
Yes. As long as you’re cleared for exercise, you can absolutely join. Nearly every active personal will experience an injury at some point, and our coaches are well-versed in helping you work around whatever limitations you might have.

They can help you tailor your workout program to fit your needs, so you can find effective alternatives that fit your current ability level.
Q:
I follow a special diet (plant-based, vegan, Paleo, intermittent fasting). Will you still work with me?
A:
Yep, we’d love to work with you. Every nutrition habits your coach will guide you through is easily customizable, and can be tailored to fit your preferences.

Simply let your coach know what your dietary preferences/restrictions are and they’ll help you out.

When does the GGS Coaching program begin?
